Migrants Beaten When They Demand Wages
A migrant worker drowned and 24 others were injured when they sought back wages from their employer but were beaten by a mob of about 200 young men in camouflage gear and brandishing iron pipes in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province.
Another man was missing after he jumped into a river to flee the pursuing mob, reported a newspaper based in Chongqing, hometown of the migrants. Chinese Internet portals ran the news yesterday, a day after the paper published the report.
