Former Cathay Pacific Employee Seeks HK$2.3 Million

cathaypacificairports_logo_120x60.gifA former Cathay Pacific airport services officer is claiming HK$2.3 million in damages from the airline after she hurt her ankle while assisting two 60-year- old passengers up an escalator in 1998.

The Standard reports that Cathay lawyers succeeded on Friday to have the court first hear them contest the "prospects of success" of such a claim as well as whether the aircraft carrier is liable for the injury.

Arguments as to how much pain and financial loss was suffered as a result of the ankle injury, a far more costly exercise, should be heard only if liability is established, Cathay argued.
