United Nations Global Compact To Convene In Shanghai
Hundreds of leaders from international and Chinese companies together with government, civil society, labour and multilateral institutions will gather on November 30 in Shanghai for the Global Compact Summit: China, the largest ever high-level corporate responsibility conference in China.
Corporate responsibility is a moral imperative, a strategic business decision and, increasingly, a market necessity. The plenary and forum sessions held during the Summit seek to show that the ethical and business cases for undertaking responsible behavior are clear and persuasive.
By implementing principles into business, companies with proactive policies and inspired environmental, social and governance performance will evolve as front-runners in the marketplace. Collectively, such actions advance the United Nations' vision of a more sustainable and equitable global economy.
The Global Compact Summit: China is held with the support of the Government of the People's Republic of China and co-sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.
It is organized in collaboration with: State-owned Asset Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC); All China Federation of Industry & Commerce (ACFIC); China Enterprise Confederation (CEC); China Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Programme; Foundation for Globalization Cooperation; United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
