Hainan Airlines Fires Three Pilots For Safety Concerns
Despite the aviation market's shortage of qualified pilots and the high fees for training a new qualified pilot, Hainan Airlines has fired three pilots who are said to have caused safety problems for the company.
Hainan Airlines has not disclosed details about the three pilots, only saying that two of them are captains and one is a skipper.
The airline also says the pilots are responsible for two accidents that occurred on November 7 and November 13, respectively, as a result of improper operations which should have been easily avoided.
It is yet unknown whether Hainan Airlines needs to compensate the three pilots now that it has ended the employment contracts. Usually, under China's labor law because the pilots are fired under grievous circumstances, the pilots can not claim compensation.
