New Anti-Piracy Regulation Issued
China's State Council yesterday promulgated a new regulation stipulating a ban of any pirated products for commercial use in entertainment areas like movie theaters, clubs, Internet cafes, and karaoke parlors.
Audio and video products and electronic games used in the entertainment locations must be legally published, produced or imported.
The regulation also bans operating electronic game facilities from possessing gamble functions in the entertainment places.
"In addition, all these products should not contain any of the contents that harm national security and incite hatred towards other nationalities," says the regulation which will be enforced from March 1.
