Five Guarantees Granted To Farmers In China
China's Ministry of Civil Affairs has made amendments to the "Five Guarantees Granted to Farmers" to allow for better social security to China's neediest people.
The amendments include provisions for a regular supply of food, clothing, housing, medical care and a proper burial.
The changes also shift the financial burden for basic care from a fund paid by farmers to government budgets.
The new regulation covers senior citizens, disabled, children under 16, and those unable to work.
