Baidu Promotes New Online Charity Area
Chinese search engine Baidu.com has launched a special area on its website devoted to the latest news about charities in China.
The page is found at http://gongyi.baidu.com and consists of real-time Internet news, aggregated forum posts, and direct links to public welfare organizations operating in China. The area also contains desktop wallpaper downloads and links to free music downloads.
Liang Dong, Baidu's VP, says that Baidu is an enterprise committed to public social welfare projects and the company is hoping to build the world's largest online resource of information about charities and non-governmental organizations operating on the Mainland.

Qatar Airways will fund two schools to educate children affected by the recent earthquake in Sichuan province. At a signing ceremony held at the offices of China Youth Development Foundation in Beijing, Qatar Airways formally committed an undisclosed amount of funds towards the project.
