Netizens are asking for a KFC commercial to be pulled from television stations because of deceptive advertising.
The KFC television commerical promotes the Old Beijing Chicken Roll and shows three high school students at a fast food outlet. Two of the students pass their exams, but a third student who does not eat the Chicken Roll fails. However after the third student eats the food, he too does well on the exam.
While some consumers on website message boards say the KFC ad wrongly encourages people to eat the Chicken Roll in order to become smart, a spokesperson for KFC says the ad is merely meant to create a relaxing atmosphere and encourage students to have a right attitude during their exams.
There is no word yet from KFC if they plan to pull the commercial.
