Polluting Shenzhen Companies Semi-Exposed
The Shenzhen Municipal Environmental Protection Department has punished twelve Chinese waste disposal companies that were found to be improperly disposing of gases and liquids.
The entire list of twelve companies has not been publicly issued, but local media report that Shenzhen Xintaida Industry Company and Shenzhen Jinhuizhan Electronics Company have received a second undisclosed punishment after failure to fix problems found last year.
These twelve companies have been fined between RMB50,000 and RMB100,000 and some have had their waste disposal licenses revoked.
A representative from the Shenzhen Municipal Environmental Protection Department says that they hope to punish violators by exposing them to the media and the entire list of companies will soon be made available.
