In order to better protect traveling consumers, Beijing Municipal Tourism Administration (BTA) has issued a circular requiring all travel agencies not to change their pre-set travel routes for the upcoming May Golden Week Holiday.

In the past, travelers have complained that some travel agencies will change itineraries without notice or compensation.

The circular called "Arranging Good Travel Groups and Reception Work During May Golden Week Holiday" also stipulates some responsibilities that each travel agency must undertake during the holiday. These tasks include making an emergency plan, ensuring the safety of all public transportation, and verifying restaurants.

BTA says in the circular that travel agencies should take effective measures in case of any emergency.
