Stars Revoked From 24 Shenzhen Hotels
The latest star-grade hotel check results released by Shenzhen Municipal Tourism Bureau shows that 24 star-grade hotels in the city have been revoked of their star qualification.
As a result, the star-grade hotels in the city have dropped from 182 to 158.
Starting in March, the Shenzhen Star-Grade Hotel Assessment Commission began to check and review star-grade hotels in the city. By the end of May, they had reviewed 112 star-grade hotels and re-assessed 53 star-grade hotels.
A representative from Shenzhen's hotel industry says that 91 of the 182 star-grade hotels in Shenzhen were built before 2000, and their service quality declined because they failed to upgrade their equipment and establishments.
