Beijing's Corrupt Vice Mayor Leaves Post
In a brief statement, Xinhua reports that Liu Zhihua, vice mayor of Beijing, was removed from his post for corruption and "dissoluteness" on Sunday.
The 28th session of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress decided on Sunday to dismiss Liu, as the committee had verified the facts of his undisclosed wrongdoings.
Xinhua reports that considering Liu has violated the discipline of the Communist Party of China and the government, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC and the Ministry of Supervision has put Liu's case on file for investigation and prosecution.
