Project Hope Program To Support Underprivileged College Students
Project Hope has launched a new program called "Common Concern - Project Hope Dream Fulfilling Action" in Beijing to provide support to over 10000 underprivileged students at the nation's colleges.
According to a survey conducted among high school graduates by China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF), a large proportion of students who are going to enter university are from poor families.
Xu Meng, secretary general of CYDF, says that this program aims to reflect the current situation of those poor college students, introduce the government's supporting policy to the poor, and support the entire society's initiatives in participating in social welfare projects.
To promote this program, they have set up a special website through which any individual or business can make donations to the poor students online. Under the program, each poor college student will receive about RMB4400 in assistance.
