Foxconn Boss: Media Report Is Untrue
Guo Taiming, president of Taiwan's Hon Hai Group, which is the parent company of Foxconn, said in Japan that Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper report about Foxconn's mistreatment of Chinese workers is untrue.
Local Chinese media report that Foxconn is considering lodging a lawsuit against Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper.
Guo said the British newspaper, which first published the report, did not interview any staff at Foxconn's factory, and the journalist wrote the article only based on some pictures taken outside of the factory.
In June, Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper reported that Foxconn, an OEM for Apple's iPod, was making its Chinese employees work more than 15 hours each day with a low salary of EU$27 per month.
