From August 1 to November 30, quality supervision and inspection departments around China will inspect small food processing factories and workshops.
According to a notice from China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), departments of quality supervision and inspection at various government levels should carry out an investigation of the basic information of these small companies, including verifying their business licenses, sanitation certifications, and tax situations.
AQSIQ will focus on fixing irregular behaviors such as the overuse of food addictives and the poor working environments at these firms.
Any company that does not have a legal business license will be immediately closed and if other problems are found at legally registered companies, owners will be fined or have their business operations suspended.
