Guangdong Calls On Donations For Disaster Areas
Guangdong Charity Federation and Guangdong Red Cross have jointly issued a proposal to call for donations from all circles of the Chinese society to support recent disaster areas.
Affected by the rainstorm caused by the category 5 Typhoon Bilis on July 14, Guangdong province has endured its most severe flooding in recent years.
So far, there are 13 cities including 64 counties with 563 villages and towns hit by flooding, with a total of 7.46 million people affected. The direct economic loss has reached RMB9.3 billion.
In order to help the people of disaster areas, Guangdong Charity Federation and Guangdong Red Cross propose that all the departments, social communities, enterprises and individuals in the province contribute money and supplies.
