BMTB Revokes Star Qualifications From 26 Hotels
The Beijing Municipal Tourism Bureau announced in a recent report on star-grade hotel reviews that 26 hotels have been revoked of their star-grade qualifications.
18 other hotels have been warned of problems with their facilities that could cause them too to lose their qualifications.
The 26 hotels lost their star-grade qualification mainly because of closing for renovations for long periods of time, changing hotel functions, old facilities, bad service and unregulated safety management.
BMTB also issued an oral warning to 11 hotels that had many service problems and criticized seven more that have not reached appropriate management, service and sanitation standards.
From February to July, BMTB conducted a re-evaluation on the qualification of star-grade hotels that were assessed in 2005.
