Shaanxi Province To Build World's Largest National Botanical Garden

The State Forestry Administration of China says that Shaanxi Provincial Government will cooperate with SFAC, China Academy of Sciences and Xi'an Municipal Government to build the Qinling Mountain National Botanical Garden to boost tourism in the area.
Upon completion in 2008, it will be largest botanical garden with the most comprehensive functions in the world.
Based on the current Shaanxi Qingling Botanical Garden, the new park will occupy 458 square kilometers in space. It will be located at an altitude ranging from 460 meters to 3000 meters above sea level on the Qinling Mountain.
Qinling Mountain is a geographical marker in China. The area south of the mountain is called South China and that north of it is called North China.
