News from Guangzhou Industrial Rehabilitation Center is that Guangdong will invest RMB310 million to build China's largest Industrial Rehabilitation Center, which will provide free rehabilitation services for injured workers.

Founded in 2001, GIRC is the first specialized hospital which provides rehabilitation services for injured workers who had joined the occupation-related injury insurance system.

There are 18.09 million workers who have already joined the injury insurance. More than 20000 of them need rehabilitation service for work-related injury each year in Guangdong province. However, due to the lack of medical treatment resources, only 2000 of them can get rehabilitation services.

After the construction of the largest IRC in Guangdong, more workers can enjoy free rehabilitation service for work-related injury. The new rehabilitation service includes physical treatment, vocational rehabilitation, prostheses and nursing staff.
