Beijing Hotel Sued For Violating Mooncake Package Copyright
Shanghai Hanyi Package Products Company has sued Beijing Hotel and Beijing Anhua Food Trading Company for violating the copyright of its mooncake package.
Hanyi claims that it finished the artwork of "Mid-autumn" on May 12, and registered for its copyright on September 20 in the Shanghai Copyright Bureau. However, it found that its artwork had been used on mooncake packages of the Beijing Anhua Food Trading Company and sold at Beijing Hotel.
Hanyi believes that the two accused had used the work without permission, thus it infringed its copyright. Hanyi asks the two to stop the illegal behavior and compensate it for economic loss of more than RMB1 million.
This case is currently being processed at the Beijing Second Intermediate People Court.
