Jiangsu Limits Overtime Work
A new regulation has been issued a notice in Jiangsu Province which requires enterprises not to ask employees to work overtime for more than three extra hours.
The new guideline also says that the enterprises should pay no less than 150% of the salary for all overtime work.
The Jiangsu Labor and Social Security Office issued the notice on strengthening the management of enterprises adopting time-based working systems and non-fixed hourly systems in response to calls from local media and interest groups.
The notice requires that the enterprises should ask employees to work no more than eight hours a day and 40 hours a week. There should also be at least one day off each week. Those companies that can not comply should follow other working hour systems approved by the local labor and social security departments.
