Following global media reports that its contact lens solution contains bacteria, pharmaceutical company Advanced Medical Optics has announced a recall of some products in the Chinese market.
AMO plans to recall 11 kinds of contact lens solutions, including Complete Multi-function and Complete Blink-N-Clean. Some of these products were made in China between June 17 and October 31.
AMO explains that the reason they decided to recall these products is that the production line of AMO in China has seen some trouble which may affect the quality of these products.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and AMO have also jointly declared a recall of 183,000 bottles of Complete Moisture Plus solution after the report that the solution products of AMO sold in Japan had failed to meet the relevant quality standards.
