Shanghai's Consular Spouses Shanghai organization says it recently raised RMB664,000 at a Cultural Charity Bazaar.
Proceeds have already been allocated and disbursed for the intended projects.
At the luncheon scheduled for November 30, the beneficiaries like Shanghai Charity Foundation, Shanghai Children's Foundation, Shanghai Children's Medical Center, Half the Sky, and Chaohu School for Deaf and Mutes Children will briefly present their activities and the CSS assisted charity projects. The event will also feature a short cultural program and offer real international cuisine especially prepared by CSS member countries.
CSS says it remains committed to building links of friendship between the member-countries and the people of Shanghai and its neighboring provinces. CSS is also committed to supporting women and children, health and education through its annual fund-raising activities. During the past ten years, CSS has donated around RMB5 million to approximately 45 different worthwhile projects.
CSS is an organization for all diplomatic passport holders' spouses and female diplomats.
At the luncheon event, representatives from Shanghai Women's Federation, Shanghai Charity Foundation, Foreign Affairs Office, Shanghai People's Political Consultative Conference, and Soong Ching Ling Foundation will also be in attendance.
