Metro Punished For Disobeying Alcohol Rules
International trading group Metro has been punished by the Xiamen Alcohol Bureau for selling expired beer.
Local media report that a customer surnamed Chen bought Bitburger beer imported from Germany from Metro, but later found that the beer was expired. The Xiamen Alcohol Bureau carried out an investigation of this issue and determined that Metro was still selling the expired beer.
A representative from Metro explained that it was an accident caused by the employees and was not done on purpose. So far, 52 bottles of Bitburger have been confiscated.
The Alcohol Bureau says that Metro has violated the management rules of alcohol circulation and Metro will be punished according to relevant rules.
