After being exposed by local media for falsely claiming that one of its products was endorsed by the China Association for Quality, Bausch & Lomb has altered its website, but has provided no explanation for its actions.

Bausch & Lomb had previously announced that it received the AAA authority of CAQ, but CAQ has denied this. Jiao Genqiang, assistant secretary-general of CAQ, tells local media that CAQ has contacted Bausch & Lomb several times after reading the report on its incorrect endorsement, but has been told by Bausch & Lomb that those contents had already been deleted from its website.

Bausch & Lomb is an eye health company started in 1853 and markets five broad categories of products including contact lenses, lens care, pharmaceuticals, cataract and vitreoretinal surgery and refractive surgery.
