Laborers and immigrant workers in Shenzhen are paying close attention to various labor laws and regulations.
20000 of them recently participated in an activity held by the Shenzhen Municipal Department of Labor and Social Security to promote labor regulation knowledge. During the National Legal System Propaganda Day, workers learned about salary, contract and social security rights in Shenzhen.
Local media reports that workers are particularly concerned about their own rights and interests and they learned various tactics to deal with their employers, including how to report a company for not implementing the minimum wage standard.
A representative from the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Labor and Social Security reminded laborers to dial a special hotline 12333 to also report any infractions they see at the workplace.
