Bausch & Lomb Recalls Contact Lens Solution, Again
Bausch & Lomb has announced a recall of its ReNu MultiPlus contact lens solution all over the world, but consumers in mainland China have been told not to worry as this problematic product has only been shipped to regions like Korea and Taiwan.
Bausch & Lomb plans to recall 1.5 million bottles of the problematic lens solution because it is reported to contain iron that may cause it to lose effectiveness earlier than normal. Apparently the ReNu Multiplus contact lens solution, which was produced in the factory in South Carolina, United States, will not affect the health of users.
A representative from Bausch & Lomb Guangzhou office says that the ReNu Multiplus contact lens solution sold in mainland China is produced in the factory in Beijing, and doesn't contain iron.
Bausch & Lomb has also published the product series number of the problematic contact lens solution on its website. The expiration dates for all of these problematic products are marked as March 2008.
At the beginning of 2006, Bausch & Lomb also stopped sales of the ReNu contact lens solution because of complaints that it caused cornea infections in users around the world.
