The Sanya Municipal Government says that they have severely punished the relevant personnel at Tianya Haijiao scenic spot who recently attacked tourists.

Earlier this month, a traveler surnamed Xu from Sichuan Province published an article on the Internet, telling a story about the rude treatment that he and his family received when they were traveling in Sanya's Tianya Haijiao during the past Spring Festival holiday. After reading the article, Sanya Municipal Government established a special work team to investigate and they found that some vendors at the scenic spot attacked the tourists after they refused to buy their goods.

Officials from Sanya have personally called the tourist and apologized to him for his treatment. They have dismissed the general manager of Tianya Haijiao scenic spot and requested the local police to conduct further investigations on the case.
