57 Fujian Steel Companies Required To Pay Higher Electricity Prices
Fujian Economic and Trade Commission and Fujian Pricing Bureau have jointly issued a circular to collect extra electricity fees from 57 steel companies that use energy-wasting tools for production.
Of the 57 companies, four are puddling enterprises that use small blast furnaces and six are steel factories that use steel pedrail machines and casting machine to make casting base. They have been asked to pay an extra RMB0.1 for every kilowatt-hour between October 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006 and RMB0.15 more for per kilowatt-hour from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007.
Fujian Economic and Trade Commission and Fujian Pricing Bureau have asked to strengthen the management of different electricity prices and prevent new enterprises from opening more of such factories.
