NCGC Ensures Capital's Electricity Use Safety
North China Grid Company Limited has worked out seven new measures to ensure Beijing's safe use of electricity during the busy summer season.
The seven measures include: enlarging the construction and transformation of the electricity network and guaranteeing the summer projects will be completed on schedule; advance technological transformation on the electricity network and increasing of its transmission capacity; strengthening the maintenance and management of power transmission and transformation facilities to make sure that electricity networks work normally; enhancing the side management of demand and offering orderly power supply; optimizing service and boosting service levels; and preparing accident prevention measures and improving capacities in handling accidents.
From the beginning of this year, local media reports that NCGC began to study and forecast Beijing's electricity use during this summer and during next year's Olympic Games. It is estimated that the maximum electricity charge of the Chinese capital will reach 13 million kilowatts this summer, increasing by 20% compared with that of 2006. Based on that situation, NCGC plans to complete another check by the end of June to make sure that the electricity grid can work smoothly.
