Heilongjiang Province Begins Fishing Ban
Heilongjiang Province in northeast China has enacted a fishing ban period to protect and recover the Province's natural fishing resources.
During the fishing ban which lasts from May 25 to July 10, almost all fishing activities will be banned at all the water ranges along the Songhuajiang River, Neijiang River, Mudanjiang River and their branches.
During the period, the oversight authorities of the province will strengthen their audits and clamp down on any illegal fishing activities. They will focus on removing fishing nets that are placed in the natural water area.
In addition, the supervision department will supervise the sales activities at many fish markets. They will punish vendors who sell certain fish and free those live fish that have been confiscated from the vendors.
