Hong Kong collector Master Wong Yuen Chung will donate three rare and valuable root sculptures for a charity auction among which 30% of the auction funds will be donated to Hong Kong Red Cross China Relief Fund for emergency relief operation.

The three auctioned sculptures are worth over HKD20 million. The date of the auction is tentatively set at 17 July, 2007.

Master Wong stated, "It is my pleasure to be able to help in the relief operation of Hong Kong Red Cross with a few of my collections. Despite there are many generous people in Hong Kong, there are few who would think of innovative and distinctive ways to contribute to the community. Disasters have robbed millions of people's homes and livelihoods of different provinces in China. I may not have a big sum of money to donate directly to Hong Kong Red Cross, but I could help by offering these precious collections of mine. "

Alex Choi, committee member of the International & Relief Service Management Committee of Hong Kong Red Cross said, "Hong Kong Red Cross is delighted to be the beneficiary of this charity auction and we thank the organizers for their good deed. We will definitely fulfill our mission in allocating the donation to those who are in most urgent needs and save them from difficult situations that they suffer from year after year."
