Hong Kong's Environmental Protection Department says it is inviting contractors to submit tenders for tenancies of the second batch of lots in EcoPark Phase I in Tuen Mun Area 38.

Aimed at promoting the local recycling industry and jump-starting a circular economy, a spokesman for EPD said that successful tenderers are required to carry out recycling activities of designated waste type within the EcoPark.

The recycling operations of the second batch of lots include waste plastics, waste electrical and electronic equipment and organic waste, excluding chemical waste, such as lube oil. The EcoPark is set up to provide the recycling and environmental industry with long-term and well-equipped land at affordable rent to encourage the industry to put more investment into advanced and value-added recycling processes.
