Beijing Rainbow Volunteer Work Station has formally launched a program to examine the health of college students and they will offer a RMB50 stipend to each homosexual college student who is willing to participate in the test and complete a questionnaire.

The activity is launched to survey homosexual college students' health, their understanding of HIV/AIDs knowledge and their demand for the relevant services in curing themselves. All the data collected will be given to units like the China Center for Disease Control to serve as a reference for professionals to make plans on HIV/AIDs prevention.

The whole process will be kept confidential for the participants. In addition to the RMB50 subsidy, students who have been identified with syphilis will be offered a free treatment.

According to Xiao Dong, the person who is in charge of the program, their previous survey on homosexual people shows that homosexual college students have inadequate awareness of self-protection regarding sexual health, and this is why they have decided to initiate this special survey on this group of people.
