Beijing Food Workshop Promises To Maintain Food Quality
Small food processing plants in Beijing have promised to make their food products according to the Chinese national stipulations and not sell them in shopping malls and supermarkets.
The media reports that the 552 food processing plants have all signed a letter of commitment on food quality and safety, which asks them to reach the basic food quality, safety and hygiene during food processing; use raw materials according to the national standards and not use recycled food as raw materials; not make counterfeit food; not use fake food signs; use simple packages for their products; and not sell their food products in shopping malls and supermarkets in order to focus on sales in local markets.
According to Beijing Municipal Government's plan, all the food processing plants in the city that don't have a business license will be closed by the end of this year.
