GE Energy Opens Shanghai Services Facility
GE Energy has opened a 7,000-square-meter manufacturing facility and laboratory in Shanghai for the company's environmental services business.
The facility will produce not only air filtration products which are used in industry to improve air quality, but also waterproof breathable membranes used in microfiltration and performance fabrics. Manufacturing and supporting activities at the facility will increase in three phases over the next 12 months.
"China is an important growth region for our environmental services business and inaugurating this new manufacturing facility in Shanghai will give us the opportunity to further expand our footprint in the region" said Daniel Heintzelman, president of GE Energy's services business. "Most importantly, this new world-class production facility will enable us to improve customer excellence while delivering products to our customers."
