Shenzhen Hotel Loses Star Qualification
The National Tourism Star-Grade Hotel Assessment Commission has announced on the official website of China National Tourism Administration that it has decided to cancel the five-star qualification of Grand View Hotel Shenzhen.
With this announcement, Grand View Hotel Shenzhen has reportedly become the first five-star hotel in Guangdong Province that has been deprived of the qualification. No specific reason has been given for the revocation.
Starting in 2004, the China National Tourism Administration has been ending the lifetime qualification system for star-grade hotels. Since last year, up to 800 star-grade hotels in China have had their qualifications revoked, including 79 hotels from Guangdong Province.
