AQSIQ Cancels Export Qualification Of Toy Makers
Since August this year, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China has been conducting a thorough check on all the toy exporters of the country and says it has revoked the export qualifications of 1074 toy makers.
Starting in the second half of this year, AQSIQ has trained up to 15000 staff from Chinese toy manufacturers. It has adopted a strict registration system especially for paint and printing ink suppliers in order to prevent the excessive amounts of lead in the toys.
In the meantime, it has established an initial product safety evaluation system under which each new product will be asked to undergo a risk evaluation before they are allowed for mass production or exporting.
