Lin Zhenggang, president of Cisco Systems (China) Networking Technology Co., Ltd, met with Hunan's vice governor Xu Xianping to discuss establishing 23 online institutes in Hunan Province.

Lin says that Internet and education have been the two main focuses of Cisco, and the company will make more investment in the education field in China in the coming years. Lin says that Cisco has set up more than 200 online technology institutes in over 70 cities across China and this has provided IT training to more than 90000 people. But he says that the company's goal is to set up 700 online institutes in the country.

Lin says that Cisco will integrate advanced international IT knowledge and train a group of professional IT talents according to the actual situation in China so as to better serve China and the world. Cisco will reportedly donate software and about US$100,000 in training outlay for each of the 23 online institutes to be set up this time and this will involve a total of US$2.6 million in donations.
