Amazon.cn Joins Hands With Greenpeace To Save Forests
Amazon.cn, one of the largest online shopping malls in China, is joining hands with Greenpeace on environmental protection by selling Greenpeace's environmentally friendly chopsticks and chopstick packages on its website.
The "Save the Forest, and Take Immediate Action" campaign was initiated in November 2007, but the selling now of Greenpeace's chopsticks and related products, which are priced at RMB15, on Amazon.cn means this campaign has proceeded well and is now reaching out to more consumers.
Yu Xin, a representative from Greenpeace China, says that Greenpeace is very pleased to launch this activity with Amazon.cn to protect the environment. Yu says that Amazon's convenient service and preferential pricing will ensure a wide involvement in this activity and extensive feedback from the clients and Amazon's dedication to public welfare makes it a model for other enterprises.
Wang Hanhua, president of Amazon.cn, has told local media that as a leading e-commerce website, Amazon.cn is obligated to make its due contribution to the promotion of green concepts by setting itself an example to others by encouraging all its employees to purchase and use these chopsticks.
