Xi'an Municipal Department for Industry and Commerce says it has arranged four special vehicles to inspect the food safety around the city.

Priced at about RMB400,000 each, the vehicles are equipped with devices and facilities to test food quality and with a computer that does data recording and analyses to ensure that the tests can be done within 2-3 minutes.

According to a representative from XMDFIC, the food inspection vehicles can conduct a quick test on the content of more than 30 kinds of harmful items, including formaldehyde, sulfur dioxide, pesticide residue and diseased meat.
