WWF Will Set Up Renewable Energy Club In China
Chen Dongmei, energy and climate change project manager of WWF China, has told the Oriental Morning Post that WWF is considering setting up a renewable energy club in China next year.
Chen says that many new energy companies in China have been listed abroad and have been influential in the world market, but they are still weak in handling risks and are vulnerable to policy changes and adjustments. As a result, they are not powerful enough to affect key decision markers, and this is why WWF has decided to set up this renewable energy club in China.
Chen says that the club will consist of industry experts and enterprise managers and by uniting they can have direct dialogue with the government.
During an interview with Oriental Morning Post, Chen said that Chinese government has been taking active measures in environmental protection, and the biggest problem that China is facing now is the dependence on coal energy.
