Beijing Will Recommend Positions To Unemployed College Graduates
News from the Second College Student Employment Forum held by Beijing Municipal Personnel Department is that the personnel departments of Beijing will recommend jobs to Beijing native students who remain unemployed after their college graduation.
Xin Tieliang, director of BMPD, says that there will be about 205,000 college graduates in Beijing this year, of which up to 80,000 are Beijingers. Xin says as there won't be any job fairs between July and September 2008 due to Beijing Olympic Games, so it is imperative for the personnel department to arrange jobs for this group of students.
College graduates with Beijing hukou, or residence permits, will be handed over the respective personnel department of the district or county where their hukou resides to receive job recommendations.
Xin says that starting from next year, BMPD will build up a basic platform at the personnel department of the 18 districts and counties to promote the employment opportunities for Beijing native college graduates.
