The ten hospitals are Huashan Hospital, Huadong Hospital, Pulmonary Hospital, Zhongshan Hospital, Tongji Hospital, Gongli Hospital, Huihui District Central Hospital, Fangta TCM Hospital, Yangpu District Shidong Hospital and Shanghai Power Hospital.
Among them, Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital says it will take a lead in establishing the city's first " stop smoking instruction site" and issue a proposal for being a model of smoke-free hospitals on behalf of all the ten participating hospitals.
The Smoke-free Program, which is jointly organized by Chinese Association on Tobacco Control and Chinese Hospital Association, is aimed at jumpstarting the establishment of smoke-free hospitals and encouraging medical professionals to work as an example for quitting smoking.
