China Will Send College Graduates To Work In Countryside
With the approval of the central government, the Central Organization Department of China has decided to select 100,000 college graduates over the next five years to work in the country's rural areas.
Li Yuanchao, minister of COD, pointed out at a work symposium that the momentum of the just-completed meetings of the National People's Congress and CPPCC should be enhaced and work should be done on assigning college graduates to work in the countryside to contribute to the construction of socialism. Li said that the importance of sending college graduates to work in rural areas should be recognized and the selection should be done in an open and fair environment so that all the enthusiastic and potential college students could be used.
Li asked that college students be encouraged to love the countryside, love the farmers and be willing to undergo the hardship in the rural areas before they go. he sais emphasis should be put on the quality instead of quantity in selecting the students.
