Shenzhen Raises Minimum Wage To CNY1000
On May 30, Shenzhen Municipal Government passed "Application For Adjusting The Minimum Wage Standard Of 2008″, deciding that from July 1, 2008, the minimum wage standard of both the inner zone and outer zone of the city will be increased.
According to the adjustment plan, the minimum wage standard of 2008 in the inner zone is CNY1000 per month, which is 17.6% higher than CNY850 of 2007. While the standard in the outer zone is CNY900 per month, an increase of 20% compared with CNY750 of 2007.
Correspondingly, the minimum wage standard of part-time jobs will also be increased to CNY8.8 per hour in the inner zone and CNY8.0 per hour in the outer zone.
