Yuchai Group Joins UN Global Compact
Yuchai Group, one of China's top construction machinery companies in Guangxi Province, has formally become a member of United Nations Global Compact.
The Global Compact was founded in 2000 by the United Nations, and it is now the world's largest global corporate citizenship initiative. The Global Compact calls for businesses to comply with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption, aiming at mobilizing the world's multinational companies to directly involve in the operations of reducing the negative impact of globalization. Now more than 3000 companies from over 100 countries have joined the Global Compact, with about 100 Chinese companies.
Yuchai Group has made outstanding achievements in safe production, environmental protection, stakeholder interests and public welfare, making contributions to the sustainable development of both economy and society.
Yan Ping, board chairman of Yuchai, says Yuchai will abide by the ten principles of the Global Compact, and make every effort to contribute to the sustainable development of human society in the future.
