Britain's Primark clothing chain has been rated the least ethical place to buy clothes in Britain, in part because it does business in China.
"Ethical Consumer" magazine will publish the statistics in next month's edition. It criticized Primark for not having a code of conduct, selling leather goods, and for operating in China. The magazine calls China an oppressive regime.
Primark perates more than 120 stores in Britain and Ireland.
Primark has responded to the British media and says it does have a code of conduct for suppliers which was independently audited abroad.

yes primark is cheap, which is great, especially for us students; but do we want to be wearing clothes that are unethically produced in developing countries that have no protective laws in place for the workers?? I would rather pay more for clothes that are not produced in sweatshops.
