BJTA To Regulate Travel Service Labor Contracts

The Beijing Tourism Administration (BJTA) has issued a circular saying that it will post online the names of travel agencies that delay to pay the tour guides or do not sign an employment contract with them.
BJTA says it will also open a special telephone hotline to receive the complaints from tour guides about poor management at agencies.
BJTA says it has been receiving many complaints from tour guides about their employers who do not sign labor contracts with them or paying them on time.
The circular requires all travel agencies sign labor contract with the employees according to the Labor Law of the People's Republic of China. It also requoires that the agnecies provide insurance for the guides.
BJTA says it will work judicial departments to punish those travel agencies that continue their illegal behavior.
