Shanghai Hotels Lose Their Luster

The Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administrative Commission says that star ratings of 23 hotels have been revoked.

An official with Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administrative Commission said that no establishment is allowed to use service quality grades and titles without authorization, and all the actions that tend to mislead consumers will be punished.

It is still unclear what specific activities caused each of the hotels to lose their respective ratings.

The 23 star-rated hotels are Air China Shanghai Hotel, Dazhong Hotel, Baosteel Group Hotel, Shenzhou Merrylin hotel, Shanghai Blue Sky Hotel, Ruitai Hongqiao Hotel, New World Holiday Village, Shanghai Chengcheng Hotel, Zhongbai Hotel, Jiangqiao Grand Hotel, Shanghai Fenghang Grand Hotel, Shanghai Hongwei Grand Hotel, Bayuefeng Grand Hotel, Shanghua Grand Hotel, Shanghai Donglv Guanguang Hotel, Liaoshen Grand hotel, Xinghua Tower Grand Hotel, New Longhua Grand Hotel, Yangtze Hotel, Hujiang Hotel, Shangchuan Hotel, Shenhang Entertainment Co., Ltd. and Huanya Hotel.
